Salty Residence

We love clients who cares about the herritage of their home... Once lost - Now returned
“It’s amazing — now so many people walk past and take photos,” a client told us (Client comment)
Not because it’s some jaw-dropping architectural showpiece or destined for Pinterest boards — but because we took the time to study the original façade and carefully restore it. Now, the street once again tells the story of what these terraces used to be. A time when small details, material care, and playful colour were the norm.
In Stage 1 of this project — the heritage restoration — we investigated this lovely old Newcastle East terrace to understand what was missing, what had changed, and what had been taken away. Our goal: to restore it to its former glory.
We sourced cast iron lacework from a specialist to match the neighbour’s. We tested colour schemes and laid out a patterned porch tile that now forms a cohesive, thoughtful façade.
The next stage of the project won’t be visible from the street — This will see subtle additions, major improvements, all so the Salty Residence can keep being a cherished piece of Australian heritage.
